The Discovery Center Expander is a utility for expanding .PST files into individual email files. These expanded files can then be processed using Discovery Center to support business processes such as migration or disposal.
The application can be used to expand single PST files, or you can export a .CSV list of .PST files from a Discovery Center report and process the complete list by opening the .CSV file.
This version of the utility has been upgraded to handle larger PST files than before. To check your version of the Expander, open program files and look for the Active Navigation Expander. If you do not see version 4.9.1 for the software, it is recommended to download this version and upgrade.
Running the Expander
- After running the software, select the source file that you will be expanding
- Select the output directory of the expanded email files
- Select the output format type of .eml or .msg
- Click Expand to start the process
- Once complete, you will have a directory containing the content of those mailboxes
